Annick — Psychologist & Integrative Retreat Facilitator

Annick is a psychologist and integrative retreat facilitator, combining professional expertise with a grounded, intuitive approach.

She specializes in emotional wellbeing, nervous system regulation, and relational patterns—guiding women beyond insight into real, embodied change.

During the retreat, she facilitates group sessions focused on emotional awareness, release, and self-understanding, within a safe and supportive space.

Her presence brings clarity, depth, and calm—supporting meaningful and lasting transformation.

Shirley May — Yoga & Embodiment Facilitator

Shirley May brings a soft, grounding, and intuitive energy to the retreat experience.

Through gentle yoga, guided meditation, breathwork, and mindful movement, she creates calm and supportive morning practices designed to help you reconnect with your body and begin the day with presence and ease.

What makes her sessions unique is the integration of music and sound. At times accompanied by acoustic guitar, her practices carry a warm, immersive atmosphere that allows participants to soften, slow down, and fully arrive in the moment.

Her approach is accessible and nurturing, focusing less on performance and more on feeling, awareness, and connection.

Throughout the retreat, Shirley guides the morning sessions as a gentle awakening—supporting relaxation, grounding, and a deeper connection to yourself before the day unfolds.

Edith van Mever - Founder The Sol Rise Collective

I am the founder of The Sol Rise Collective.
But truthfully, this did not begin as a business idea, a wellness concept, or an aesthetic retreat brand with sunrise yoga and beautiful views. It was born from exhaustion. From survival mode. From losing myself completely.

For years, I lived in a constant state of pressure. Always pushing forward. Always carrying responsibility. Always being the strong one. The fixer. The one who kept going, even when there was almost nothing left inside.

And somewhere along the way, I lost connection with myself.

After a severe car accident, everything changed. My body pulled the emergency brake long before I ever would have. At 33 years old, I became fully unable to work and ended up in a deep burnout and depression. Not only physically, but mentally and emotionally, I was completely depleted.

What I discovered during that time is something so many women silently struggle with: we become so used to surviving that rest starts to feel unfamiliar. Softness can even feel unsafe. Returning to your feminine energy sounds beautiful, but when you have spent years constantly “on,” it is not a luxury. It is a healing journey.

The Sol Rise Collective was created from that journey.

Not because I have everything perfectly figured out.
But because I know what it feels like to lose yourself.
And also what it feels like to slowly find your way back home again.

Our retreats and transformational journeys are designed to be a space where you no longer have to hold everything together. A place where you do not need to perform, achieve, or constantly give. A place where you are allowed to breathe, rest, feel, release, reconnect, laugh, cry, heal, and remember who you are beneath all the noise of everyday life.

Whether you come for peace, clarity, healing, connection, softness, renewed energy, or simply to feel better within yourself again, my deepest wish is that you leave with a piece of yourself restored.

Because sometimes, that is where real transformation begins. Xoxo Edith

Daniel van Kessel - Organiser The Sol Rise retreat

After years of living under constant pressure in the corporate world, always performing, carrying responsibility, and staying switched on, the stress eventually caught up with him. What looked successful from the outside slowly became unsustainable on the inside, leading him into burnout, exhaustion, and a complete loss of direction.

Searching for a fresh start and a way back to himself, he left for Bonaire. But healing was not as simple as changing locations. Instead of instantly finding peace, he realized that true transformation only begins when you stop running and start reconnecting with who you really are beneath the noise, pressure, and expectations.

It was on Bonaire that we met, both carrying our own stories, struggles, and experiences with burnout, survival mode, and losing ourselves along the way. From those shared experiences, The Sol Rise Collective was born.

Today, Daniel brings his grounded energy, life experience, and personal growth into every retreat and journey we create, helping others step out of survival mode and reconnect with themselves again.
